Million Meal Challenge: Volunteer FAQs
Do I need to bring anything with me to my volunteer packaging session?
No, all of the food-packing ingredients and utensils will be set up for you to use at your packing table.
How early should I arrive before the start of my volunteer session?
You should arrive approximately 15 minutes before your volunteer session begins.
Can I bring a friend who did not sign up in advance?
Yes, volunteers can sign up on site in the food packaging room (West Hall B2 on the Exhibition Level of the Vancouver Convention Centre), or in the MDRT Foundation Booth in the Power Center Store.
What should I wear while volunteering?
Please wear comfortable attire and shoes, as you will be required to stand for the two hours of your packing session. You will be given a hairnet when you arrive, which must be worn for the entirety of your volunteer session.
How will I know what to do when I arrive on site?
There will be a brief food-packaging process orientation at the beginning of each volunteer session. It is a simple process, and working together as a team makes the time go very fast.
Where can I make my donation to the Million Meal Challenge?
You can make your donation at the MDRT Foundation booths in the Power Center Store and in the food packaging room in West Hall B2. Donors of USD 200 and above will receive a Million Meal Challenge T-shirt.
When is the Million Meal Challenge volunteer group photo?
The volunteer group photo will be taken on Wednesday, June 16, at 12:15 p.m. in the food packaging room in West Hall B2. Don’t forget to wear your Million Meal Challenge T-shirt!
When will I know if we have achieved the Million Meal Challenge goal of packing 1 million meals?
The Million Meal Challenge results will be announced from Main Platform on Wednesday, June 16.
Where is the food we pack being sent?
In collaboration with our distribution partners, these life-saving meals will be sent to children and families suffering from malnutrition in Haiti, India, Jamaica, the Philippines and Tanzania.
